God is Our Provider..Repeat: God Is Our Provider!

Dear Friend,

A workaholic is one who works compulsively. They will work at the cost of their sleep, meeting friends or family. While the term generally implies that the person enjoys their work, it can also imply that they simply feel compelled to do it.

Can I be honest? There were times in the past (and sometimes even now but I have to catch myself) where I thought working like this was the only way to get things done. But my motivation wasn’t rooted in Grace and purpose. It was being driven by fear of not having what needed. A fear of suffering from lack. I believed I could control the situation by working all the time! I didn’t trust that God was my Shepherd!

God is our provider! I repeat...God is our provider! He our is the source of our supply. It is not in our jobs, spouses, family, friends, degrees or anything else...God is our source.

Check out what Psalm 127:2 reminds us!

NLT | It is useless for you to work so hard from early morning until late at night, anxiously working for food to eat; for God gives rest to his loved ones.

NKJV | It is vain for you to rise up early, To sit up late, To eat the bread of sorrows; For so He gives His beloved sleep.

NIV | In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat-- for he grants sleep to those he loves.

I have focused so much on the “sweet sleep” part of this scripture. Simply put failing to realize that it only comes once I rest in the Grace and promise of His provision for EVERYTHING that I need!

Prayer: Father, open my eyes so I may see you as the source of all my needs! I release and cast every care upon you today! Thank you for being provider in my life! In the name of Jesus, amen!
