Out In The Deep End by LaKisha M. Johnson
I was a great swimmer growing up. I mean I loved the water. When I spent my summers in California, I would practically live in the water. I would start in the morning, and only take breaks for food and go right back into the water. There were very few breaks for me.
When I first started out I stayed on the shallow end of the pool, where it was safe. Why because I knew that I wasn't at risk, that I could still have fun but I would be safe. One day I was challenged to go to the deep end. My friend said, "You can swim but you will never know how good of a swimmer you are until you go to the deep end". That day I went into the deep end, and she was right I learned how well I could swim. The fact that the bottom was not right underneath me, allowed me to see how strong my legs were and when I went down (because sometimes you do go down), I found out that my lungs were stronger and I could hold my breath longer than I imagined. But I only learned this when I learned to swim in the deep end.
God is so faithful, He is. He takes the foolish things and confounds the wise (1 Cor 1:27) . He is just looking for us to tap into the "depth" of Him. He says, "Yeah you are cool here on the shallow end , but let's get deeper in me". "Take chances with Me, and let me show you just how strong you are in me." (Zechariah 4:6) Let's move into the deep end. Just trust Me!" (Jeremiah 29:11). You can stay on the shallow end and produce a little fruit or stay on the deep end and produce much fruit (John 15:8)".
"Come see what I have for you, it's more than you ever imagined, because you decided to take a chance on Me, the King of Glory." (Revelations 21:6-8) That is all He is looking for for us, to trust and follow Him, to Tap into the depth of Him, so that we can experience the more of Him. Will you trust Him, (Proverbs 3:5-6) so that you can experience the more of Him? I promise He has you, He's the ultimate lifeguard (2 Cor 1:20).
You will never know how strong you are until you venture into the deep end.
My prayer for you today is that you take a risk in God so that you learn your strengths and can receive all that He has for you today.
