Be Steadfast!

July 3, 2017

1 Corinthians 15:58: Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, (steadfast) stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the LORD, because you know that your labor in the LORD is not in vain.

I have a friend who is a day trader, a successful investor. He didn’t start out in this line of work; as a matter of fact he worked for the same company for years, as he slowly began to study investing and the art of day trading. I have listened to his thought processes many times on how to be successful with it. He is always watching a video or reading on being more successful. Yes, this is a risky business for him, but he is dedicated to it, and his dedication to it has proven to work for him. When he buys new stock, he realizes that he takes a risk, but he more focuses on the reward. He doesn’t buy the stock and think “what if I lose?” he buys the stock and thinks “what if I win?”. Watching him do this has increased my faith in God. It’s funny how we can find God in everything.

Hebrews 11:6 says, “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” God has already made a promise to me that if I am in faith and I constantly seek Him, He has a reward for me. His heavenly promise to live with him eternally but also a promise to reap those benefits here on earth (thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven Matthew 6:10). People will make you think living for Christ is risky; it is you risk winning every time. We have to take the same attitude my friend has with his career, I am going to win. Stock in Christ, has a guaranteed win associated with it. All we have to do is remain steadfast (loyal, faithful, committed, devoted, dedicated, dependable, reliable, steady, true, constant, solid, resolute and relentless). Your labor in faith, your labor in love, your labor to do what is right, your labor for your purpose is not in vain. Perseverance provides continual grace to the end. So don’t give up on your promise or destiny, there is a promise reward for you and it ends in victory. That is why Christ was the “first fruit” sacrifice so that we could receive the harvest in the end. In Christ it’s always a win/win.

Prayer: Father thank you for your divine destiny for our lives. Holy Spirit strengthens us when we are weak so we do not give up on the promises God has for us. Please give us the endurance to fulfill our destiny and walk out the plan for our life. We thank you for the reward that comes with diligently seeking you, in Jesus Name. Amen
