The Posture of Your Heart...

The Posture In Your Heart…..

Dear Friend,

I wonder if we understand how much our posture impacts us? The way we stand, how we sit impacts our bodies. I started studying our physical posture and am amazed about how much your posture impacts your physical health. I remember when I was ready to deliver my last son Judah. The doctor came in to give me my epidural and had a very difficult time. He said, “Ms. Johnson I have never seen a spine this straight, I mean never in my life.” Because I am tall I practiced standing up straight. Did you know I would find out later that posture was related to heart disease, and whether or not you were more at risk for a heart attack or stroke. I am glad that I stand up straight, in more ways than one.

Our hearts are way more sensitive than we realize. Proverbs 4:23, “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” God designed our hearts to be our communication point between He and I, everything that He desires of us, downloads into our hearts, but other things download into our hearts as well.

(See Jeremiah 17:10 and Hebrews 4:12). The posture of our heart (position that it’s in) determines our capability to respond to the situations around us. John 15:1, “I am the true vine and, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears fruit, while every branch that bears fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.” Won’t you take the time this morning, this week and allow God to exam your heart, to see the posture, what capacity do you have to handle the things around you? The only way for you to know that is that you allow God to truly examine every place in your heart. A hint to understand the condition of your heart, is how you respond to the situations around you; the posture of your heart is what people get to experience daily with you.

In the examination room,

LMJ
