Perfectly good ham...

Dear Friend,

I remember a story i was told years ago about a ham. A man came home and brought a ham to his wife. It was a large ham with the bone in. He was excited to have her cook the ham. The woman went into the kitchen to prepare the ham, and put it in the pan. Her husband sat and watched as she cut off the end of the ham and put in the trash. He looked at her strangely and said, "Why did you cut off the ham and throw it in the trash?" She said, "I don't know, my mom always did it." He got on the phone and called his mother in law. He said, "Mom, i bought a ham for your daughter to cook and she cut the end of the ham off and threw it in the trash, she said she learned this from you, why do you cut off the end of the ham, that's good meat!!" His mother in law said, "I don't know, my mom used to do it, call her." So the man, called the grandmother and asked her the same thing as the mom. The grandmother paused and said, "Baby I used to do it, because my pan was too small and i didn't have room in the cooler to store it."

I wonder what behaviors, and systems we have perpetuated over the years because of what our parents and forefathers taught us. Over the years the church as called them generational curses. However I am confused as why we have accepted them into our life. Galatians 3:13, describes us as being redeemed from the curse. 2 Corinthians 5:21, says Jesus became sin, to take away our sins. Meaning, he or she whom the SON set free is free indeed. For far to long we have accepted sins and belief systems passed on for generations as our norms, we have accepted them as a way when God is saying to us, "NO, he who the son set free is free indeed! (see John 8:36), which means once we accepted Christ, we were redeemed from the curse of the law, generational sins, curses and systems. It's time for us to build some new systems, to renounce and cut up all contracts that we have with our past and that we have accepted to be our truths over the years. God wants us to walk in total victory in Christ Jesus, to experience heaven on earth. In order to do that you have to operate in a new system. Ask yourself what new system do I need to create to overcome, my old system so I don't pass it on to the next generation (see Philippians 2:5)
