Drunk in love...

July 11, 2018

Dear Friend,

While I was riding around in the car with my 11 year old, Alyssa, she makes a profound statement. She said,”I’m tired of listening to the (secular) songs on the radio. The only thing they talk about is love!” I asked her if she felt she knew the reason why people only sang about love. Her response was simply...”Because they need love, want love, but don’t get it.” People are habitual and operate in cycles and patterns. And Alyssa was able to identify the trend that PEOPLE NEED LOVE!

This teachable moment was brought to me by 11 year old. She understands the basic foundation of the necessity of love. We are created to love, and to be loved by God. We were created in His image and likeness. Everyone longs to love and to be love by someone. The world is waiting on the children of God to manifest His Glory so they can dwell in and experience the love of God! (See Romans 8:19-26)

As long as there are people out there craving alternative sources for love besides God; people will always live a love deficient life! Worldly relationships, positions, and possessions will never fill the void in your heart that can only be filled by God Himself who is Love (see 1 John 4:8).

Today ask God to reveal to you just how much he really loves you! Not just from that five year perspective of “Yes, Jesus loves me because the Bible tells me so!” But actually having a personal conviction and resolve that He loves you with an unfailing love! When you have the revelation of who He is to you; you will then realize that His love completes you. Therefore, you won’t go looking for alternative sources to meet your needs. Everything we need can be found in Him. All we truly need is Love.

Intoxicated by His Love,

Jess
