Bandaids...

Dear Friend, There is nothing a bandaid can’t fix in the eyes of a child. My son fell and scraped his shin. You would’ve thought it was the worst thing that could’ve happened to him. He cried and I consoled. All was well until... he decided to pick at the scab. He came to me with the same song and dance, “Mommy, look my leg is bleeding! I need a bandaid!” I dried his tears and bandaged him up. I knew for sure he would be fine. But it wasn’t over. A couple days had passed and here he comes again! By this time I had to explain to him, that if he continued to do this his cut would take much longer to heal. He seemed to get the picture because he hates the sight of blood. During this moment l had a glimpse of how God might feel when dealing with me. I go to Him, cast the care, and then a few days later I begin pick at the same area that is in the process of healing. Then, unfortunately the process starts all over again. I realize through this moment with my son just how self destructive we can be at times if our minds are not renewed. (See Romans 12:2) Healing is a choice and we must CHOOSE to receive healing and the grace to walk in health and wholeness! Health is our covenant promise and it’s a choice to receive it! Isaiah 53:5 says, he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. It’s already been established and it’s up to us to walk in it. This means healing in every part of our being! Prayer I declare I am no longer bound to the pain of my past! I am thankful for your loving kindness and patience with me! Overwhelm me with your love today. You are my peace and you give me your joy! I thank you that I am healed and whole in every area of my life in Jesus’ name, Amen. Thankful, Jess
