And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them and said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. (Matthew 18:2-4 ESV)
I believe I’ve told you about my son Josiah, he is number four (4) of my five. It is funny how much you can learn from someone so young. He is not perfect, but He is faithful to what He believes about God! He often believes God for things that I couldn’t imagine at his age. For example, His healing.
In November 2015, He made a sincere decision to take himself off all of his allergy medicines. I wasn’t in agreement with it, but I could tell he was serious. We began this journey in which he wanted to believe God for more than what he was experiencing. He told me, “I don’t want to live life on medicine, nor do I want to live with all of these allergies.” I will be honest, it was a process. There were times when it looked like it wasn’t working. There were times his chest was constricted and it was very difficult for him to breathe, however HE wouldn’t be moved from what he believed. I mean he wouldn’t compromise and if it wasn’t homeopathic he wouldn’t take it and after a while he wouldn’t take it as well.
Last Tuesday, he made a decision to fast the majority of the day and told me he wouldn’t eat until after 6:00 pm. I asked him what was his fast for, he said, “Because he felt as if, he needed to get prepared for this next season in our lives”. I asked him how he felt after the fast. He said, “Mom so much better!”. I am not sure about his conversation with God, during this fast but I will tell you that something amazing happened.
The following Thursday, he had a football game. The temperature that night was around 48 degrees. He USED to have an allergy to the cold, which wouldn’t allow him to be outside like that without experiencing hives as well as running eyes and burning and itchy skin. Around 7:30 I got a text. “I am healed”. I responded to him via text, but what went on the other side of the text, was shouting and gratitude. He has not had a symptom since! He received it by faith!
What have I learned from his faith, nothing is Impossible and faith doesn’t come with an expiration date!
