Heavily Medicated...
Dear Friend,
Have you ever been sick before? I remember one of my son's used to get strep throat often. I remember one time he had it back to back, and I couldn't figure out why? When we returned to the doctor he asked, "Did you follow all the instructions and take all of the antibiotic?" I looked at my son, and he had not. The doctor explained, it was necessary for us to follow all the instructions, in order for the antibiotic to work. Wow, I didn't realize that missing a few pills would hinder the process of healing.
Oh how this applies to our faith and walk with God! I remember when there were times in my relationship with God, I thought I could skip my time with Him. I thought it wouldn't matter if I skipped a day or two here or there. I thought and assumed because I had a little word or some word in me, that I would be ok. Boy was I wrong! Sin is parasitic, you better make sure that you deal with it daily! I began to notice that on the days that I would skip, or wouldn't make God a priority something would slip in, my hearing would be off or I would be easily offended or irritated. I then realized that I couldn't do my days without God. It was just like the prescription for strep throat, I needed it ALL!
I want to share the same with you, don't skip your daily doses with God. Hebrews 10:22 says, " Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies nestled with pure water!" Drawing closer to God, cleanses us and keeps us pure. It keeps out the contaminates and keeps sin from taking over our lives! So follow all the instructions, get your daily dose with God and watch God work in your lives! The Word works!
