I used to think that I had to always wait on the "new year" to start over, or for some significant moment to manifest before I could get a "do over". I would come up with new year resolutions, first of the years goals and all these things that I wanted to see happen "differently" in that year. However when I would get a few months past, get off target, forget about my list or miss some of my goals. I would find myself frustrated, upset or overwhelmed. So I taught myself something, my special secret for success. I learned to live and plan daily! This doesn't mean I don't have long term goals, it just means that I measure them daily.
Berean's study bible quotes it like this, Lamentations 3:21-23, " 21Yet I call this to mind, and therefore I have hope: 22Because of the LORD’s loving devotion we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail.23They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness!…". This taught me to live daily, to take the pressure off of myself when I make mistakes and allow myself permission to "do over" (one of my favorite things to call in a game when I was growing up). Remember, God allows us to experience His brand new mercy, grace and love every day! So if you find yourself in position and you don't reach your first quarter goals, it happens more often than not, give yourself permission to receive "brand new mercies" daily, God is just that kind of God!
Taking advantage of the do overs,
