1...Thank You for my lights..

Dear Friend,

I have noticed that previously in my most difficult seasons it was hard for me to be grateful, in this last "season" (we live in seasons) however, I made a determination to keep "gratitude" in my "attitude", every time I found myself getting into a difficult space, I would "count it up". What do I mean by "count it up", I would begin to number all the things that God had done for me within this last year. It wasn't about the number of things, but it was the fact that he had done ANYTHING!

If I felt pouty, because something didn't happen the way "I" thought it should happen, I could hear my mother say, "Remember no one owes you anything!" However, God gives me everything. So for every difficult moment, I began to be intentional with my gratitude. If a situation presented like I was in lack, I would simply start thanking God for what I had. What i found was, my attitude would change about the current situation. Gratitude keeps us in a state of contentment (see James 1:2-8), even in difficult situations. It reminds me I have seen worse....

Today, i want to challenge you, anytime you start complaining, or feel like life isn't enough, focus on being grateful. Count it all up!

1. Thank you for my lights....

2. Thank you for a roof over my head...

3. Thank for food in my refrigerator...

4. Thank you for furniture to sit on...

5. Thank you for my car to drive...

6. Thank you for gas for my car...

7. Thank you for my health...

8. Thank you for my sound mind...

9. Thank you my children are healthy...

10. Thank you for shoes and clothes...

I could go on, usually about the time i get to 10 i start feeling better. This last year of my life I have seen God move in some amazing ways (living room furniture, scholarships for the boys for school, new washer and dryer, new lap top, health, restored relationships, favor and so much more). I don't have anything to complain about, even when it looks like things aren't working. I will give thanks to you, Lord, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds. - Psalms 9:1

Forever Grateful,

LMJ
