Don't Forget to Forgive by C. Rose
Dear Friends,
Don’t forget to forgive. God desires us to experience His peace, stay fearless in the face of giants, hope endlessly, and love unconditionally. He doesn’t want us operating from a place of anxiety and anger. That why forgiveness is what he wants for each of his children. He wants us to forgive ourselves, and well as others who have wronged us. He knows when we won’t forgive, we will never really experience his peace, be fearless, have hope, or truly give love or experience love.
I John 1:9 (amp) says, “ If we {freely} admit that we have sinned and confess our sins, He is faithful and just {true to His own nature and promises}, and will forgive our sins and cleans us continually from all unrighteousness {our wrongdoing, everything not in conformity with His will and purpose}. This scripture shows us how to get forgiveness for ourselves. We just need to confess those thing we need forgiving of, and the promise that He will cleanse us, remains.
Matthew 6:14-15 (amp),14)“For if you forgive others their trespasses {their reckless and willful sins}, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others {nurturing your hurt and anger with the result that interferes with your relationship with God}, then your Father will not forgive your trespasses.
So, two things we can see that happens when we make a decision not to forgive others……
We are nurturing our hurt and anger.
is defined as, “to feed or protect; support or encourage.”
We are interfering with our relationship with God.
Interfering is defined as, “to come into opposition; hinder actions.”
Prayer:
Lord, we choose to forgive ourselves of________________ and we choose to forgive______________ of the pain and hurt that we have brought on ourselves and inflicted by others. We make a decision today to no longer nurture our hurt and anger, and we repent of anytime that we have held on to un-forgiveness and interfered with our relationship with you. We thank you for your forgiveness, and we thank you for the freedom that comes with us choosing to let go of un-forgiveness.
Forgiven and Forgiving,
