Hiding Keeps You from Seeking..
Good Morning Ladies (and few gents),
Today’s devotion included below “How Hiding Keeps You From Seeking” is a reminder from GiG Gwen that, “God seeks worshipers who come to Him in spirit – through Jesus – and in truth…Today, let’s worship Him in spirit and in truth. Come as you are, hiding nothing.”
GiG, let’s keep this real simple. Jesus meant that everything else in this world doesn’t compare to the things He can give us. He is the One to look toward; let Him renew and refresh us!
I have a 10-hour workday ahead of me and I have little doubt so do many of you too. Your to do lists just keep on growing and growing. God tells us to surrender our lives to Him. Yet, this is no small task. All our plans, every desire we feel, each entitlement that once seemed our right—everything is put aside in order to make way for our King’s will.
19 Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, 20 for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body. 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 NLT
GiG, when we reflect upon the debt Jesus paid, we are indebted to Him more than we could ever repay. Truth is He sustains us; we should consider each breath and heartbeat a gift from Him.
Undoubtedly, God is entitled to ask that we yield our life to Him. At the same time, surrender is in our best interest. The Father promises that following Him leads to hope and an established future. Psalm 31:19 states,
How great is the goodness you have stored up for those who fear you. You lavish it on those who come to you for protection, blessing them before the watching world. Psalm 31:19 NLT
Yup, that’s true talk! So, while He is the Almighty One with all authority, He promises to care for us and to do what will benefit us most.
May we be encouraged today with these simple but profound truths. We will not always like everything God chooses at the moment, but He promises to work all things for good. Trust Him enough to hand the reins over to Him.
God’s Got It…so we can TRUST—Honesty is more than not lying. It is truth telling, truth speaking, truth living, and truth loving. James E. Faust
