Timing is Everything!

Dear Friend,

Good Morning Ladies (and few gents),

Today’s devotion included below “Real-Time Relationship Restoration” is a reminder from GiG Elisa to, “practice taking our thoughts captive (2 Corinthians 10:5) and asking God to align them with His truth (Romans 12:2)…When we live according to God’s design, we get to experience a whole lot less drama along with the blessings that come from real-time relationships restored by His love and extravagant grace.”

GiG, I don’t know about you, but it would be nice to have a lot less drama going on right about now—work, ministry, and extended family.

And then GOD answered: “Write this. Write what you see. Write it out in big block letters so that it can be read on the run. This vision-message is a witness pointing to what’s coming. It aches for the coming—it can hardly wait! And it doesn’t lie. If it seems slow in coming, wait. It’s on its way. It will come right on time. Habakkuk 2:3 MSG

Ah, patience. It’s the stuff frustration is made of. And yet it’s

a virtue the Lord expects His people to have plenty of. OUCH or Amen!

GiG, evil, injustice, and drama seem to have the upper hand in our world. Like Habakkuk, I often feel angry and discouraged as I see what goes on. And like Habakkuk, I complain vigorously to God about the situation. Yet, God’s answer to Habakkuk is the same answer he gives to me and for that matter you too, “Be patient! I will work out my plans in my perfect timing.”

It isn’t easy to be patient, but remember God hates sin even more than we do. Punishment of sin will certainly come. As God told Habakkuk, “Wait for it.” To trust God fully means to trust him even when we don’t understand why events occur as they do or don’t occur when we think they should.

GiG, I recognize in the fast paced world I live in that’s not what I want to hear—I want what I want and when I want it. If we were all being honest with ourselves, most of us don’t want to wait. And we don’t have to—for most things. But if we could only learn the value in slowing down—of waiting on God’s presence; God’s plans may play out slowly, but they come steadily, surely. In other words, God is going to do whatever He says He’ll do. We may not know when, exactly, or how but we can be found faithful while we’re waiting.

May we be encouraged that whatever we’re waiting on today, let’s not fall prey to our patience wearing thin. Purpose in our hearts to apply the slowly, steadily, surely principle and watch God work in His perfect time. And when He does, it’s likely DRAMA FREE or not!

God’s Got It…so we can TRUST— I learned that we can do anything, but we can't do everything... at least not at the same time. So think of your priorities not in terms of what activities you do, but when you do them.

Timing is everything- Dan Millman

And here’s the rub, God is the beholder of our time and timing on earth and in heaven.
