Unforgettable

Dear Friend,

“Unforgettable, that’s what you are.” I have sang this Nat King Cole song to my past for MANY years. At times it seems like it’s almost impossible to choose to think about something else other than the past. I would do something or something would occur. And just like that, I was stuck, and frozen in time serenading the moment with the Unforgettable song. Every time I do this I am paralyzed and instead of growing in Christ, I would begin to immediately regress because my life in that area is now put on pause. But thank God for His Word that encourages and strengthens us to move forward in Philippians 4:13-14.

...But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

We must forget (choose not to focus and give our undivided attention) to the past! It’s the past and the only way we get stuck in it is in our minds! We have to make an intentional effort to not dwell there.

Today friend let’s make the choice not to get stuck in the past. Remember the past is defined as gone by; done; ended; no longer existing; accomplished. If the enemy can get us focused on anything behind us he knows that we won’t seize the fullness of our future! It’s the oldest trick in the book and we’re not falling for it!

Pressing forward one moment at a time,

Jess
