A Rolling Stop

Dear Friend,

I remember one time I was driving and I had come to a stop sign, I didn't come to a complete stop. I just sort of rolled through the stop sign. I remember immediately the blue lights behind me, and I knew was in trouble, but I didn't realize what I had done. A rolling stop is a term used in traffic law to refer to when a vehicle fails to come to a complete stop.

As I was meditating on God's love, He reminded of this rolling stop, it occurred over 20 years ago. He said to me, "That's how I am with my love and how we should love others, it doesn't matter what is in front of us, how difficult that person is, nothing should keep or stop our love. I know that this is difficult at times, especially when we are loving difficult people or we are difficult to love ourselves, but imagine a love that never stops. Let's meditate on this:

Lamentations 3:22-24 Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. 23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. 24 I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him.”

Thank you Lord, for loving us beyond what we think should stop you.

Grateful for Rolling Stops,

LMJ
