Dear Friend, check out a devotional by my friend D. Andrews
Good Morning Ladies (and few gents),
Today’s devotion included below “Believing and Receiving” is a reminder from GiG Melissa that, “Whenever I get off track into ‘work hard so God will love you’ mode, the Holy Spirit whispers these words in my ear, ‘While Melissa was still a sinner, Christ died for her’.”
Let’s make this personal. While (place your name here) was still a sinner, Christ died for her (or for him). Yes. “Let it expose your insecurities so that you can stop striving and lean into His love.”
For me, this past week has been one of reflection, inspiration, and revelation. I periodically go back and read my personal journal entries. I happened upon an entry from the first week in January 2020 which included a prayer of thanksgiving in collaboration with 1 Chronicles 16:8-9 NLT.
8 Give thanks to the Lord and proclaim his greatness. Let the whole world know what he has done. 9 Sing to him; yes, sing his praises. Tell everyone about his wonderful deeds.
Four elements of true thanksgiving are found in this psalm (song):
Remembering what God has done.
Telling others about it.
Showing God’s glory to others.
Offering gifts of self, time, and resources.
Simply put, if we are truly thankful, our lives will show it. We will have the courage to speak when God wants us to speak and to be quiet when He doesn’t want us to speak. Our Redeemer is worthy of it all—our attention, praise, worship and love. The work of His hand is amazing.
May we be encouraged to be a light that shines brightly today, not for our glory but His alone.
God’s Got It…so we can know the TRUTH—We can talk a good grace game, but something inside of us wants to earn the love and approval of others,
Called to serve and encouraging others to thrive,
