Just One More Day!

Just One More Day by LaKisha M. Johnson

There are moments in our lives in which we need “spiritual check-ups” I equate them to a tune up in your car. These check-ups allow us to boost our performance and increase our longevity for a situation. This morning I was feeling as if I needed one, I had been in faith for something for a while and although, my language hadn’t changed, my human side of me was tired. I wasn’t questioning God, but I was definitely feeling the tiredness that comes with “working” your faith. As I sat down to read my bible, the Holy Spirit took me to the book of Jeremiah, the young prophet set aside for an appointed time. I began to read Jeremiah 1:4-12 and this impartation of the Holy Spirit would become the booster I needed.

Jeremiah is in deep conversation with God about the call on his life. He is trying to explain to God, how he didn’t feel qualified, he felt inadequate and not prepared. God quickly corrects him, (1:7) ensuring Jeremiah, you don’t have to have the words to say I am giving them to you, you don’t have to qualify yourself for the assignment “I” am giving you, I don’t even need those around you to qualify you, I am the one who has called you, I got you and I will rescue you (1:8). He (God) even goes to tell him don’t be afraid. He (God) reminds Jeremiah of the call on his life, and provides Jeremiah the details to who he is and what he is supposed to do for the kingdom. I truly believe that this conversation with God and Jeremiah was his confidence booster, his spiritual check up to let him know, he was ok and would be ok. The verse that stands out next, is Jeremiah 1:12, “The Lord said to me, “You have seen correctly, for I am watching and see that my word is fulfilled.” My God, thank you for reminding me that, the promises of God are yes and amen (2 Corinthians 1:20) and if you assigned me to it, called me to it then YOU (Zechariah 4:6) will make sure that it is fulfilled. I believe that this divine conversation between Jeremiah and God, gave him the second wind he needed, the faith to just hold on till his assignment was fulfilled and that change was about to come. God provides us with the same here, I just kept hearing in my spirit “Just hold on one more day. Just keep the faith and make sure that your words line up with my words and don’t give up in prayer. Just hold on one more day!

It is a strategy of the enemy to attack us in our faith when we are feeling tired or weary, BUT Isaiah 40: 31 says, “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Just hold on to your “one more day” (Galatians 6:9), just keep believing God for one more day. If we don’t get weary in well doing we shall reap, if we faint not. Just one more day…….

Prayer: Father we need your strength for today. We need your divine impartation and wisdom so that we are able to walk out the call and fulfill our purpose in life. Thank you Holy Spirit for encouraging us in the Word that our labor has not been in vain. Give us the strength father to hold on to the promises you have for us in our life. We believe that we will not give up in faith or in prayer! Please let us experience the supernatural today, In Jesus Name. Amen
