Where is Your Clap Back?
Where is Your Clap Back by LaKisha M. Johnson
1 John 4:4 (NIV) You dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
1 John 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.
The term clap back became popular over the last few years. It is slang for your, “comeback” when someone has “come” for you. If someone has talked about you or assaulted you verbally, then you should “clap back” with plenty of sass and attitude. This morning I was thinking, about where is our “clap back”? Why do we allow satan, the accuser of the brethren to say anything he wants to us. The Holy Spirit began to show me how we easily can forget who we are because of the “present” situation, because of our past and because of our belief systems. 1 John 4:4 provides us with the biblical DNA for who we are in God. This passage of scripture promises victory in every area of our lives. In order to overcome, and have victory you have to understand what’s in your DNA, you have to understand the “spirit” that you are dealing with and that no matter what goes on around you, you are set to win in victory. That is the ultimate "clap back".
Greater is He, that is in ME than he that is in the WORLD. Webster’s dictionary defines great as “an extent or an amount, considerably above the normal or average. This means, that the God that lives in us. He is bigger than any circumstance or situation that we are experiencing. If we back up to the very first part of this verse you will see that it is written, “You dear children, are from God and have overcome them.” That is a biblical promise. God is saying because you have accepted me as Lord and Savior in your life, there is a benefit to living in me. There is a promise of protection, provision and promotion; you just need to remember who I am and who you are to me. Isaiah 59:19, “So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him.” Your standard is in your spiritual DNA. You have to approach any situation with the attitude, that I am a child of God, and I don’t have to settle for anything less, that is your clap back. That is your “clap back” to the enemy, that you understand who and what you are in the kingdom of God, and don’t accept or think anything less. You are God’s chosen people, a royal priesthood (1 Peter 2:9) and your Father, Daddy God, the King of Kings will go to war on your behalf. Have no confidence in the flesh only confidence in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:3).
Prayer: Father thank you for encoding my DNA with you. Thank you for the promise of victory in Your word. No matter what my present situation looks like, I am set up to win with you in lead. Thank you for your promise of protection and provision as a daddy is to his daughter or son. I win with you. In Jesus Name, Amen
