The Little Foxes....
The Little Foxes that Spoil the Vine by LaKisha M. Johnson
Solomon 2:15 “Catch for us the foxes, the little foxes that ruin the vineyards, our vineyards that are in bloom.”
I am a walker, not a runner but a walker. I walk around 2 ½ miles a day, sometimes a little more or a little less. I have a certain time that I like to walk. Sometimes I have found myself rushing to get out the house so that I could get my walk in at this certain time, usually when I do this; I neglect to do something, usually it’s tying my tennis shoes correctly. If you are a walker or a runner, you know how significant this is in your process. It is almost the worst thing, to have to break your stride and bend down and tie your shoe, it is almost like a reset and you start over. Your heart rate changes, your pace changes, your stride changes, you almost have to mentally put yourself in a restart place. This could be easily prevented if I would just take the time to tie my shoes properly.
The writer in Solomon provides a perfect example of what happens when we neglect to take care of the “little things”. Little foxes are cute and cuddly but they aren’t beneficial to your vineyard or garden, as a matter of fact they are harmful. They will destroy your vineyard over time, and it won’t produce the harvest that it was meant to produce. Same things for the little things that we need to deal with in our lives. The Holy Spirit is given to us so that we can succeed; the wisdom given to us in Word provides us instructions for each season in our life. I am learning to deal with little things so that they don’t become big things. So I tie my shoes, so I don’t break my stride. Same for us all in every area, deal with the little foxes, the things in our life that will keep us from being successful in our kingdom assignments. God promises to liberally supply us with wisdom if we ask for it (James 1:5), ask Him, for clarity, wisdom an instructions so that you can minimize your risk and maximize your gains. Don’t give up on doing good, ultimately God has you (Galatians 6:9).
Prayer: Holy Spirit, please show us the places in our lives in which we need to tie up loose ends. Provide the instruction on how we need to deal with these things. Give us wisdom, knowledge and understanding in every area of our lives. In Jesus name. Amen
