Stick to the Script!

Stick To the Script by LaKisha M. Johnson

Joshua 1:8 “Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.”

I remember one time when my oldest son was little he had an ear infection. I took him to the doctor and the doctor gave me a prescription for an antibiotic. As I received the prescription for the antibiotic, I remember his pediatrician saying, “Please make sure he takes all of this.” As a young mom, I remember giving him the medication, but I only gave him the medication until it felt better. The fever was gone, he was more active, so I didn’t finish the prescription. A few weeks later, he had another ear infection, I remember the doctor asking, “Did you finish all of the first prescription?’ and I had not, I only had given enough, of what I thought was necessary or until it seemed as if he was better.

In some cases, it isn’t necessary for you to finish all the antibiotics, because the body will take over after a while and fight it with its natural defense mechanisms. However, it is necessary for you to take it, if your immune system is weakened, or if the virus that you have is serious, like staph. The goal is to kill off all the negative bacteria so that the infection doesn’t return and your body doesn’t become resistant to infection. It is essential that you follow the prescription so that you can get well.

There is a script for our lives, and it is contained in the Word, and if we eat it daily, we will be prosperous and successful. If you want to overcome these resistant areas in your life, these generational curses, these strongholds, these areas in your life, that keep coming back up, then you need to “stick to the script”. Don’t let up, don’t back down because it seems like it is a little bit better. Don’t get weary in well doing (Galatians 6:9), don’t assume anything. Just stick to the script, and let the Word be your weapon (Ephesians 6: 10-18).

Prayer: Father, thank you for divinely aligning my life with Your Word. Thank you for writing out the script for my life, for having a plan for me, and even making my mistakes prosper. I overcome in you, and you alone, help me to keep You my priority. In Jesus Name. Amen
