Your Breastplate, put it on!

Your Breastplate by LaKisha M. Johnson

Ephesians 6:14 with the breast plate of righteousness………

We have been covering this series on the armor of God, and three things necessary for the breastplate of righteousness:

  1. We need to be obedient to God’s word, Isaiah 59:1-2, “Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; nor His ear heavy, that it cannot hear. But your iniquities have separated you from your God; and your sins have hidden His face from you, so that He will not hear.” Sin and disobedience keep us from walking with God, it’s not that He rejects us, it’s that they cloud our decision making and often keep us worried and overwhelmed. Focus on walking in obedience to Him.

  2. Faith is essential to the breast plate of righteousness. Hebrew’s 11:6, “Without faith it’s impossible to please God.” Abraham was considered righteous because of His faith. Romans 4: 20-22, ““He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. And therefore ‘it was accounted to him for righteousness”. Abraham had unwavering faith that God would, do exactly what He promised him to do.

  3. Love, is a necessity, not an option, Colossians 3:14, “And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.” When they asked Jesus what was the greatest commandments, He said, love and to love. Righteousness and Love go hand and hand, to be right standing with God, is to be filled with His love and demonstrating this love to others.

The breastplate protects us from the unexpected blows in life and from the countless attacks of the enemy, it is not what we fight with, but it is necessary for us to put it on, to withstand the attacks of the enemy. Your breastplate of righteousness will provide you the peace you need to protect your vital organs, the strength resist him and to overcome negative thinking and wrong mindsets.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, we put on the breastplate of righteousness this morning, to withstand the snares of the enemy, thank you for providing us away of escape. Your breastplate comes with guaranteed safety, and we thank you for it. In Jesus Name. Amen
