Hinds Feet!

Ephesians 6:15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel peace.………

For a while, I had what people would call “bad feet”. I had developed bunions on my feet and they were so painful. I would have pains running up my legs and my feet with hurt at the end of the day. I elected to have surgery and when I did, I was more than happy. However, during the process I had to use a set of crutches, and my feet couldn’t be firmly planted on the ground. As a matter of fact, in the wrong conditions, I could easily slip. It was because even with the crutches, there wasn’t a firm foundation.

The Gospel, the good news has to be our foundation, and with it shall come peace. Everywhere that Christ went, there was peace. He would change every environment around Him, He IS the firm foundation, His feet were beautiful, because He took the good news with Him wherever He went. He was/is the good news. The same has to be with us, we have to be established in the good news, firm in our foundation, so when the enemy comes in like a flood (Isaiah 59:19), we can rest in peace knowing who we are in Christ Jesus.

Although my crutches seemed helpful, they were uncomfortable and limited my ability to fully walk, and were only helpful for a while. As a matter of fact when I went back to my doctor, he asked me why was I still using them he only wanted me to use them a couple of weeks, he needed me to get my “footing” so I could learn to walk appropriately again. The "crutch" limited my ability to gain strength. I had to start thinking about other things or people that I had leaned and depended on instead of the Word of God. In tough situations, what or who was I running to solve my problems?

God only wants us established in Him. When we use other things to strengthen us, we aren't as strong as we think. There is a peace in being firmly planted in Christ. Its where you find your strength!

Habakkuk 3:19 The Sovereign LORD is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights.

Lord Make My Feet like Hinds Feet,

LMJ
