Prayer will work it out..

Dear Friend,

I wrote this several years ago, but it still applies to today.....

Your Spiritual Workout ….…. By LaKisha M. Johnson

James 5:16, “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”

Recently I had begun to work out differently using weights. I have always thought I was pretty strong naturally, I assumed because I was able to move and lift certain things, that I possessed certain strength. When I started the workout with weights, I learned something about myself; I was not as strong as I thought I was. I am right arm dominate, and lifting at first with my right arm was easy, by the time I had gotten to my left side, I could barely lift 10lbs. My trainer began to explain to me, that because I was mainly using my right hand. This was why my left arm couldn’t endure what my right arm could endure. He also explained to me the more time I spent working and using that arm, the more I would endure. He was right, now I can lift and do more with my left hand, because I am using it and developing it.

Our prayer should be the same, our prayer life needs to be fervent (passionate and intense). Often we think because we go to church and we pray a little and we tithe, that we got it. But a committed prayer life is when we will began to experience the power of God. This is where the mysteries are revealed, that is where our wisdom comes from. I hate to use a church cliché, but it is true. Little prayer, little power but much prayer, you will have much power. The intensity of our prayer life (this includes time listening), builds us up spiritually and keeps us in constant communication with God. Your spiritual workout is more important than your physical workout. It will give you your life plan and the keys to endure.

Prayer: Lord teach me how to pray, teach me how to seek your face in prayer, so I am able to endure all things. In Jesus Name. Amen

Praying in the Spirit,
