Follow The Yellow Brick Road...

Dear Friend,

I don't know about you but growing up, I was a huge fan of the Wizard of Oz. I often imagined myself as a character and I was so intrigued with what was at the end of the "yellow brick road". The instructions for Dorthy were if she would simply follow "the yellow brick road", she would get to the wisest man in Oz, the Wizard and he would be able to tell her how to get back to Kansas.

Wouldn't it be great if life was that easy for us, just simply follow the yellow brick road! Well it is, God gives each and everyone of us clear instructions for our lives. The question we have to ask ourselves is am I doing exactly what God told me to do? Matthew 7:14 says, "But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it." God has a desired life for us, but it comes with specific instructions. Do you know what else, those instructions are tied to our blessings and our protection. (Psalms 91)

My son Josiah and I were talking about this, he said, "Mom I drew something like this one day. I was sitting in a praise and worship service and this image came to mind. There is a specific path that God wants us on, and if we will stay on that path, we will eventually get to him, but if we get off the path, if we take the shortcut, then we are out of His will for our life, it may seem better mom, but it really isn't better." Josiah, is are absolutely right, when we get off God's path for our life, we tend to want to take short cuts, which in turn put us in situations that compromise us and we are out of God's will for our life.

Do you know there are no shortcuts in the kingdom? God has uniquely assigned you to a mountain of influence. A sphere for you to make impact for His glory alone, but that comes with following His instructions. Psalms 37:23 states, The steps of a [good] man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. My challenge to you today, is to ask yourself am i doing everything God has asked of me? Am i on the path He has for me, in His will for my life. Are you following the yellow brick road?
