The Resistance

Dear Friend,

I remember I wanted to focus on some strength training. I knew that my back and arm muscles were under developed. I couldn’t feel my strength in those areas. I thought I could use a resistance band with no problem, but I could barely stretch that thing out, I mean I couldn’t get it to move or do what it was supposed to do. I didn’t have the strength or power to do it, my muscles were so under developed that they wouldn’t allow me to be great. God began to show me that is what pride does, it weakens us, it makes us think we are developed, but it is really a sign of how under developed and spiritually immature we are (see Proverbs 26:12). Pride keeps us from gaining ground supernaturally.

James 4:6, “But he gives us more grace. That is why scripture says: "God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble." In layman terms God resists the proud, meaning God can’t exist or move on your behalf when you operate in pride. Pride is a sin, and it is subtle and always tries to provide a “reason” of why you should be prideful (Proverbs 29:3). There is no reason for you to be prideful (self-exalting, bragging, boasting, strife, down talking, down grading, self-reliant etc). It is deceitful in our hearts, it has us operating in a false sense of humility (see Romans 12:3). If you want to see and experience the supernatural manifestation of God in your life, then remove and deal with your pride so that God can exalt you in your due season (see James 4:10)

Blessings upon you,

LMJ
