Fertile Soil

Dear Friend,

I am at the place in which I am ready to re-plant in the new pot. I thought that I could just use the soil in the plant, and sit it over in the pot. I discover I had to get new soil and add more soil. I thought maybe digging up some dirt from outside would work, but when I did further research i discovered that soil from outside could be full of bugs or fungus. I couldn't use just any soil, I had to use the right soil.

In Matthew 13:1-9, Jesus describes in a parable the importance of fertile soil. This illustrates the importance of "fertile" soil. Good soil, will always yield a harvest, of a hundred, sixty or some times thirty times what was sown. Your heart has to remain fertile and open to God. This is where our growth occurs in our heart. There are things that keep us from being fertile; un-forgiveness, bitterness, anger, malice and much more. These keep you from receiving what you need from God, to operate in Godly wisdom. When our soil (our hearts) are hardened or shallow the word of God can't take root and multiply. Just like this plant, I have to make sure that it is in the right soil.

Checking my soil,

LMJ
