Who Defines Your Worth?

Dear Friend,

Check out today's devotional by D. Andrews...

Good Morning Ladies (and few gents),

Today’s devotion included below “Who Defines Your Worth?” is a reminder from GiG Gwen that, “… our worth has nothing to do with our feelings...Great portions of our identity and of our personal value are wrapped into combustible packages of emotion… we need to set aside feelings that diminish our value, and embrace our proper identity: Child of the King of Kings.”

GiG, I know some of us can shout a hearty Amen! But others are not there yet and it’s not due to a lack of trying. We’ve spent way too much time and energy listening to the lies. I don’t know about you, but it wasn’t until I reached the threshold of sick and tired of being sick and tired that I asked God to change my thinking about me, which resulted in a change in attitude about me and I ultimately embraced His truth over the enemy’s lies. Now don’t get it twisted; my transformation didn’t happen overnight, and I’m so thankful He was patient with me. Sadly, the root of many of the lies came from the people closest to me, which is often the case because what they say or believe about us carries more weight than say a stranger.

“Oh, how great are God’s riches and wisdom and knowledge! How impossible it is for us to understand his decisions and his ways!” Romans 11:33

GiG, we either believe this truth in Scripture or we don’t. Although God’s methods and means are beyond our comprehension, we can trust Him. He governs the universe and our lives in perfect wisdom, justice, and love.

Oh, we can get caught up in following someone else’s schedule, get bogged down in comparison, and fail to embrace who truly defines our worth which will result in growing frustrated when things don't go according to plan, get lost in social media feeds and tweets with despair, and live day-to-day in the lie that our worth is defined by who we are and not whose we are.

GiG, if we truly desire to walk in the center of God's perfect will, we must become willing to cooperate with Him in every area of our lives. That means no stone goes un-turned. Furthermore, if we believe He is who He says He is how can surrendering to His way and embracing our worth based upon what He says about us not to our benefit? Go on; tuck that under your thinking cap.

May we all be encouraged and embrace the knowledge that God is always motivated by love and constantly has our best in mind. Unless we trust His heart, our view of reality will be distorted. Go on, believe in the goodness of His heart and His plans—and recognize our family bonds—Kingdom Kids. Then, we'll experience the joy of transformation. He’ll change us, mold us into the likeness of Jesus, and make all things beautiful—in His timing.

God’s Got It…so have FAITH— Faith moves mountains and changes hearts.

Have a “Tidal Wave” Tuesday, July 24, 2018—surfs up! Embrace the wave of life changes caused by the gravitational interactions between self, the Son, and The Holy Spirit.

Called to serve and encouraging others to thrive,
