God Never Fails!

Dear Friends,

I have worked for the State of Arkansas for over 18 years. On last week, for the first time ever I did not receive a paycheck. My son and I were in route to handle some early morning business, and we noticed the gas light had come on. I knew it was payday Friday, so out of routine, I checked my account and to my surprise, no check. I, immediately looked at my son, and said. “It is Friday, right?” He said, “Yes!” I have never mixed up a payday Friday, but just in case I did. I checked the payroll schedule to make sure it was payday. After checking, indeed it was payday, but Chanda had no direct deposit.

I told my son that my check wasn’t there, and I would just have to check on it when I got to work. He asked, “Mom, why are you not upset?” My response was, “Getting upset wouldn’t change the fact that my check isn't there.” I just quietly whispered to God, “YOU know what I have need of!’ This was a moment that I was able to see growth, because there would have been a time I would have panicked.

Psalms 18:6 was a gentle reminder that, “In my distress I (can) called upon the Lord and (I did) I cried to my God for help. From His temple He heard (Chanda’s) voice, and my cry for His help reached His ears.”

This was definitely a time of distress I can’t tell an untruth, as I had many drafts set up that day. However, I chose to not trust what I saw, but I chose to trust the promise of God. The Word assures me that my heavenly Father knows exactly what I need before I even ask him (see Matthew 6:8 ). The promise that if I keep my life free from the love of money, that He will never leave me or forsake me. (see Hebrew 13:5)

To His faithfulness and favor alone. My amazing husband filled up my gas tank, and gave me lunch money. Then payroll assured me that they would fix the problem and that I would get definitely be getting paid. Friends this is just a simple reminder that God never fails. He always provides!!!
