Chosen by God

Dear Friends,

John 15:16 (NIV)

You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.

Choose- is defined as, “to select freely and after consideration”; “to have a preference for.”

Wow, what an amazing God we serve! To know that after much consideration of who and what we may have been. The Creator still selected us freely, to go bear fruit in His name.

This is one attribute that I love about Him. That after careful selection, “He” equipped us with the most vital tool we would need in bearing fruit, Himself.

John 15:7(NLT), “"Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.”

We have to make a resolve in our heart that when He choose us, it was because He preferred us. He definitely is a Choosy Lover! He didn’t choose us based on our ability, but on His God given ability. Our job as the branches is to remain connected to the vine. Then, John 15:6, gives us two promises we can expect in return for us discerning that He chose us.

  1. Our fruit will last. That fruit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.

  2. And, whatever we ask in the Father’s name, He WILL give us.

Chosen by God,

Chanda Rose
