Because I love you..

Dear Friend, “I’m giving you a spanking because I love you!” These words seemed all to disturbing as a child. I couldn’t understand how being disciplined like that (or any other way that caused pain) was good for me or less alone love! But now as a parent myself I realize the essential principle of discipline that must be in place since I love my children. In Hebrews 12:10-11 (NLT) it reads: 10 For our earthly fathers disciplined us for a few years, doing the best they knew how. But God's discipline is always good for us, so that we might share in his holiness. 11 No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening--it's painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way. When you have accepted Christ and have been born again God is your Father. He loves us with an unspeakable, and unmeasurable love! And since He does, correction and discipline come. Does it always feel good...no! But regardless when we keep the perspective that Daddy loves us and knows what’s best it makes it all worth it. Thank God today for His grace and unmeasurable love! Child of the King, Jess
