Good Morning Ladies (and few gents),
Today’s devotion included below “Come to Me” is a reminder from GiG Wendy that, “There are so many things that I mindlessly ‘come to’ each day — so many things that I eat, read, watch, buy, consume… But God is speaking clearly to me: “Come to me, consume Me, and let me consume you… The One, who shouldered the cross, can shoulder your pain. ”
It’s Monday and I’m overjoyed to share the 26th Catechism truth.
19 For God in all his fullness was pleased to live in Christ, 20 and through him God reconciled everything to himself. He made peace with everything in heaven and on earth by means of Christ’s blood on the cross. Colossians 1:19-20 NLT
Question 26: What else does Christ’s death redeem? (Colossians 1:19-20)
Answer: “Christ’s death is the beginning of the redemption and renewal of every part of fallen creation, as he powerfully directs all things for his own glory and creation’s good.”
GiG, sometimes the pressures of life leave us emotionally drained, but today’s Catechism truth reminds us that we are truly loved not because of what we do, but just because of who we are. Jesus is our Redeemer. He has shed his precious blood to purchase us, we are bought with a price (1 Cor. 6:20).
March 6th – April 18th is Lent 2019 (40 day countdown to the crucifixion of Jesus). I don’t know whether you commemorate this time or not, but I do and have done so for several years. Doing so has awakened living a Christ-centered perspective in me. This is a time of looking back to go forward. And there are lots of devotionals available that help us to do just that.

So let’s continue with today’s Catechism truth that I have no doubt is God-timed. When I prepared to share Catechism truths way back when, I didn’t look ahead so to my surprise ta dah; truth 26 is during Lent. But God did know, making it all the more powerful, enjoyable. I simply love God-incidences!
GiG, we are HIS; purchased with his blood and we may be confident that he dearly loves us. If he had not dearly loved us, he would never have given himself for us, and washed us from our sins in his blood (Rev. 1:5). He will redeem us from the wrath to come.
May we be encouraged in knowing that the world will not always be as it is now, fallen and groaning for the fullness of God’s kingdom. Thankfully, God will make all things new through Jesus.
