Don't Get Distracted

Dear Friend,

It's so easy to get distracted, to focus on the wrong things. Petty things. I remember I used to have so many "pet peeves", things that other people did, that would get on my nerves. It could be simple things like talking loud in public, popping gum or chipped nail polish (yes chipped nail polish). But we have to ask ourselves, why? The enemy loves to distract us. He often speaks to our petty places so that we forget about the things that really matter. If we focus on what's wrong with a person, we miss the opportunity to experience the relationship, and that's even with people we don't know. If we are picking someone apart, we aren't thinking about being a blessing to them.

1 Peter 4:8, "Above all, love one another deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins," That includes our pet peeves too. Our love for each other should be so deep, that we don't get distracted with "pet peeves" or petty places. Our love should be so overwhelming that it reminds us, that what's wrong with a person, doesn't matter anyway. So I am asking you today, to over look the mistakes and focus on the potential of a person, that's all that God is concerned about anyway. Don't get distracted with what's wrong with them, you may be missing an opportunity to love deeply.

Loving You Deeply,

LMJ
