A Green Thumb!
Dearest Beloved,
These past several months I have been working hard on getting my green thumb. I’m instinctively a nature and earthy person, yet failed to ever take the time to express that inside my home; until now. I am currently, proudly, growing 4 house plants. One of the planting rhythms I’ve learned, which is necessary to be a successful plant lady, is the art of repotting plants. It is vital to watch your plants closely because there comes a time when the plant will outgrow its pot. This causes the plant’s roots to tightly coil around itself, restricting air flow and its ability to properly take up nutrients from the Earth.
Although a quick procedure, and when done correctly, a simple procedure, repotting is risky business. One must be gentle as you uproot the plant, and as the plant is being transferred. It is important to have a pot that is sizeably larger than the previous one; and it is important to have the correct kind and amount of dirt. Despite its roots being exposed and bare for an extended period of time the plants survival is dependent upon it being replanted. Remaining in it’s old pot will cause the plant to suffocate and die.
Oh how similar to these plants our lives can be. As we grow in maturity with our Father we become too small for our current space, time, and situation. In order to grow into the best version of ourselves, it is important to trust the Gardner as He replants us, saving us from ourselves and helping us to grow into our purpose. Could you imagine what happens if we choose to allow the fear of being uprooted, the fear of having our roots exposed, the fear of a bigger pot to psyche us out? We would essentially be choosing to die rather than live.
Let us be reminded of our Father’s words, “I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. "I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. “John 15: 1-6
So what will it be my friend? Will you choose to live or die?
Abundantly With Love,
