Eat Right

Dear Friend,

We’ve all heard the sayings...”You are what you eat.” And, “Whatever you put in must come out!” There is much truth to these statements. They both apply to pretty much everything! I think about athletes and how they must be diligent and disciplined in their diet and exercise in order to maximize their performance. If an athlete half way works out, and eats nothing but empty calories it becomes evident in their performance! They’ll lack the endurance and strength needed for the competition.

We are not any different! We should be daily feasting on the Word of God and exercising our Faith! Is it always easy...NO! Will it always be perfect...NO! But we have a personal coach, The Holy Spirit! He’s with us to comfort and guide us in all truth and wisdom (See John 16:13) It takes discipline and a winners attitude. We have to remember that Jesus already won and He is our victory in every situation!

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith.a Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.

At redemption Jesus passed the baton. And told us to RUN! We cannot run this race called Life bogged down, winded and out of shape. God desire for us is to function at optimal performance!

No more excuses...Just Do It!
