The Eye of The Storm!

Dearest Friends,

This morning I wanted to share an image with you.

As you look at this image what is it that comes to mind? For me it was, "Wow, how breathtakingly beautiful!" What a view to experience. What a captivating image of peace.

Ironically enough, this image of tranquility and awe was taken inside of Hurricane Dorian, the 185 mph wind storm ragging through the Bahamas and south east America. This is the eye of the storm.

As I watched the news and watched more and more of the damaged and chaos this storm had caused, I considered my own life and the storm that continues to pass through. Despite the wind, waves, and destruction of Hurricane Dorian there exists a part of it that exudes tranquillity and peace. I whispered a silent prayer, "Lord, where is the eye to my storm? I don't want to get lost in its disastrous path. Direct me to peace."

Friends, this week I simply come to remind you, and myself, that every storm has an eye. I'd like to hope that the one who calms the winds and waves is Himself the keeper. I continue to press into Him in this storm.

Abundantly with Love,

The Anonymous Wife

"As evening came, Jesus said to his disciples, “Let’s cross to the other side of the lake.”36 So they took Jesus in the boat and started out, leaving the crowds behind (although other boats followed). 37 But soon a fierce storm came up. High waves were breaking into the boat, and it began to fill with water.

38 Jesus was sleeping at the back of the boat with his head on a cushion. The disciples woke him up, shouting, “Teacher, don’t you care that we’re going to drown?”

39 When Jesus woke up, he rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Silence! Be still!”Suddenly the wind stopped, and there was a great calm. 40 Then he asked them, “Why are you afraid? Do you still have no faith?”

41 The disciples were absolutely terrified. “Who is this man?” they asked each other. “Even the wind and waves obey him!” Mark 4:35-41

"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. 26 But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. 27 The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.” Matthew 7:24-27
