I will worship even when it hurts

Dear Friends,

I often join the Global 24/7 Room Live Stream of The International House of Prayer. While watching via YouTube today, I could see the heaviness of one of the worship leaders. As he strummed his guitar with his head bowed, I could see his body trembling as he began weeping. Unable to lift his head, he continued to offer God a sacrifice of praise, through small pecks at the strings on his guitar. One of the other brother’s on stage, began to lift his voice in song inviting the presence of God to come in. Then other’s begin to join in with worship and praise to our God, and I noticed the posture of the one who was weeping began to change. He still had a somber look on his face, but his head was no longer bowed. Although, he was no sitting you could tell that he was sitting with confidence that His God presence had come in and redirected his focus back onto the one who is able to change every circumstance we face. It made me think of Psalm that David wrote when he was in the Desert of Judah.

Psalm 63 NIV

1 You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you; I thirst for you, my whole being longs for you, in a dry and parched land where there is no water.

2 I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory. 3 Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. 4 I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands. 5 I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips my mouth will praise you.

6 On my bed I remember you; I think of you through the watches of the night. 7 Because you are my help, I sing in the shadow of your wings. 8 I cling to you; your right hand upholds me.

9 Those who want to kill me will be destroyed; they will go down to the depths of the earth. 10 They will be given over to the sword and become food for jackals.

11 But the king will rejoice in God; all who swear by God will glory in him, while the mouths of liars will be silenced.

May, I, encourage you today, that even when life doesn’t give you head ups on the death of a love one. When it doesn’t warn us about the bad day, the break up, the disobedient child, the financial crisis, the family issues……can we just still trust that our God is worthy? When life leaves us thirsty, can we choose to run to God to fill that thirst? Can we still give him the worship and praise that is due him?

Listen my friend, I have experienced it in my own life over and over, and seen it work in the lives of other…..Worship will change both our posture and position. No matter what we are facing, or will know that the power in our praise and worship will bring us before the King. When we choose to worship, we bring His Kingdom into our presence, and everything changes when His Kingdom comes.

Even when it’s heavy, I will choose to Worship our King,

Chanda Rose
