Your Trunk is Open

Dear Friend,

Yesterday I was taking a morning walk, it was about 6:30 in the morning, I made one lap around and noticed a young lady with her dog. She was putting some things in her car and walking her dog. As I made another lap, she was not at her car, her doors were closed but the trunk was open on her SUV, with everything exposed. As I begin to continue to walk, I noticed that she was trying to set the alarm, on her car, she kept pushing the button. However the alarm couldn’t set because the trunk wasn’t closed.

As I continued to walk, I started thinking. She wasn’t secure because everything wasn’t in position. She couldn’t set the alarm because it wouldn’t work because all the doors were not properly sealed. It started making me think about our Spiritual armor.

Ephesians 6:11-18 King James Version (KJV)

11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

14 Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;

15 And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

16 Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:

18 Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.

Because the door was still open, she was still exposed, she was compromised. If I have any doors open, then I am compromised. For me a long time the door I had open was pride, no one could tell me anything, I had all the answers for myself. The door of my pride left me vulnerable and wouldn’t allow my armor to operate correctly. Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall. It is better to be lowly in spirit among the humble than to divide the spoil with the proud. If I don’t have on all my armor, I am compromised. I need the full armor to be protected. If I am missing something I am still exposed. So let me make sure I got the full armor of God on daily.

Blessings,

LMJ
