Wish Upon A Star

Dear Friend,

When I was little I always wanted to wish upon a star. I would pray at night to see a falling star, so that I may wish and hope that wish would come true. I don't think i ever got to see a falling star until I was older. What I learned in the process, is though I had yet to see a falling star, I had something greater that I could count on, I learned pray. I remember at such a young age, my mother would teach me how to pray. I remember my grandmother emphasizing how important prayer was for life, and how the trials of life would teach me how significant prayer is.

I will admit, I was a little disappointed whenever I didn't see a falling star. However, I learned a greater power, to pray. What prayer taught me, was I didn't have to wait to one particular moment, to pray that I could pray and receive, because of the one who loves me, who cares for me and provides for me, gave me unlimited access to Him, and it isn't limited to a once in a life time chance. Ask a matter of fact, He encouraged me to come to Him, as often as I wanted and any time I needed to talk to him and I could talk to him about anything.

Phil 4:6, "Fret not about anything, but in everything, by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God."

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened."

I learned that I have, something better than a falling star, and all the times I waited to wish, I learned how to pray, and I have to be honest, I have seen results, and I am glad I don't have to wait on that one moment. So I don't have to wish upon anything anymore, but put my hope in Christ Jesus.
