Fire Up!
Dear Friend, Cold winter nights bring back fond memories of being in front of the fireplace as a child. But even in these joyful moments nothing brought on frustration more than wood that failed to ignite. In these moments, my Dad was left with the tedious process of carefully tending to the fire. Dad knew that if he left the fire it wouldn’t take care of itself. There was a part that he had to play. He had to poke and prod it. Or even at times gently blow air on it or stir it up just to ensure the embers would glow. And sooner or later after much attention, the wood would be engulfed in flames. We all have a responsibility to keep the passion and fire alive within us for the things of the Kingdom! 6 This is why I remind you to fan into flames the spiritual gift God gave you when I laid my hands on you. 7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. Timothy 1:6-7 Timothy reminds us to stir up what has been deposited on the inside of us. It’s ok to be on fire for God! He doesn’t desire us to be cold or stale. Instead, we are to be alive and active! So if your flame has dwindled because of the things of life. Ask the wind of His presence to blow on you! Ask for Him to give you the wisdom and strength to stir up the passion within so you may fulfill your purpose and destiny! Ask the Holy Spirit for help! When we remain at a half lit state it’s the same as being lukewarm. Get up! Stir it up! Get in His Word! Get in His presence! Speak the Word! For He promised in His Word we have the Spirit of power, love, and self control. There’s no fear in Him! Don’t be ashamed to be on fire for God. Be patient with yourself and keep on fanning...then watch it catch a blaze! Then the blazing Glory of God that emits from you and touches those around you will cause transformation and revival everyone you go! Fire up for Him, Jess
