Let It Go!
Dear Friend,
This is a day that the Lord has made, “Chanda” will rejoice and be glad in it. I know many of us have "hit the ground running" for the New Year. Hopefully, we have declared yesterday a thing of the past, and boldly proclaiming that we are realigning ourselves to doing life according to God’s purpose and plan for us. Hopefully, we have made a decision to yield to the Holy Spirit, and move synchronized with Him.
I was reminded on yesterday, that the past is only a place of reference. It was never meant to become a place of residence for any of us. The truth of God’s word confirms this in Philippians 3. The Apostle Paul, who had once persecuted the church with such passion was now running with zeal for God. Paul had experience the freedom of only referencing the past as to where he had been. However, he no longer allowed his “own” passion, his “own” accomplishment, his “own” righteousness, his “own” ways of doing things, nor his past mistakes and/or failures to allow him to take up residence there. He understood that in order to fulfill purpose, he had to totally disconnect from his past. Brother’s and sister’s I admonish us all to follow the example of Paul of putting no confidence in our past, and even less confidence in our flesh.
Any idols that we have built to our past, tear them down. Any areas in the past that we have taken up residence, it’s eviction time!! We putting our full confidence in Yeshua the Messiah who has redeemed us from our past, present, and future sins. He alone will fulfill both the purpose and plans He has for us, but we must let go of what was, so that we can fully embrace what shall be.
Philippians 3:7-8 (TPT)“Yet all the accomplishments that I once took credit for, I’ve now forsaken them and I regard it all as nothing compared to the delight of experiencing Jesus Christ as my Lord. 8) To truly know him meant letting go of everything from my past and throwing all my boasting on the garbage heap. It’s all like a pile of manure to me now, so that I may be enriched in the reality of knowing Jesus Christ and embrace him as Lord in all of his greatness.
Philippians 3:13-16,(TPT) “ I don’t depend on my own strength to accomplish this, however I do have one compelling focus: I forget all of the past as I fasten my heart to the future instead. 14) I run straight for the divine invitation of reaching the heavenly goal and gaining the victory-prize through the anointing of Jesus.15) So let all who are fully mature have this same passion, and if anyone is not yet gripped by these desires, God will reveal it to them. 16) And let us all advance together to reach this victory-prize, following one path with one passion.
My past is over and I am moving forward,
Chanda Rose
