Spiritual Reality

Dear Friend,

Do you remember when virtual reality headsets made their debut? You were able to attach your phone to these devices and download apps, games, and even movies. There were numerous videos released of people using them. And many couldn’t handle the images before their eyes because they were too realistic. They would lose their balance or become too disoriented that they had to take them off. But the entire time they had them on their eyes, they had no other choice than to focus on what was playing on the screen. With some added some sound effects and vibrations they felt like they were there! This environment became their virtual reality!

Although we live in this world, as a born again believer of Jesus, we are not of this world (see John 16:33). God is Spirit! We are Spirit! That means our reality is actual spiritual! So our minds should be set on the things of above.

Proverbs 4:25-27

... And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne.

Colossians 3:2

Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.

Proverbs 4:25

Look straight ahead, and fix your eyes on what lies before you.

As we focus on Jesus, and keep our fixed we will see the fullness of who we are. We will see ourselves in our purpose and fulfilling destiny that has already been written. But if we have our attention on the things of this world, we are missing out on what is truly taking place behind the scenes. For everything that we see is a product of what is taking place in the Spirit! Jesus Christ is our reality! Jesus is the visible image of an invisible God! And we are hidden in Him. (See Colossians 1:15-17)

Today, let us keep our eyes fixed on Him and may our reality be what has been established in the Spirit! Give us eyes to see and ears to hear and discernment to operate the way that you have created us. In Jesus’ name, Amen!

Focused,

Jess
