It is Written...

Dear Friend,

I’ve started thinking, about my unanswered prayers? What if they haven’t been answered yet because they aren’t written in my books? What if they aren’t divinely connected to God’s plan or will for my life? What if what I've been praying is all about me and, and not about Him. Can I be honest? I've been known to pray selfishly, to pray prayers that have NOTHING to do, with God's will for my life. I know i've prayed prayers knowing God may not answer them, and some He didn't need to answer them AT ALL (see 1 Peter 3:17)!

There are two scriptures I want us to meditate on today:

Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. Psalms 139:16

And this is the confidence that we have before Him: If we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 1John 5:14

Two things I want us to focus on, we have books written, I know we have talked about this before, but let's let that sit and register in our spirit for a minute. We have books written. Books that hold our purpose, books that talk about all our days being ordained. Books that already confirm who I am in Christ Jesus, who I am supposed to marry, my next steps and God's vision for our life. This excites me even more as I meditate on this, because it further confirms for me, NOTHING in my life is accidental and if I do step out of line, He will work out everything for my good (see Romans 8:28). Whew! Thank you Jesus!

Next, if I have confidence and pray according to His will for me, then He hears me, but what I like next is verse 15, "And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we already possess what we have asked of Him." Why? Cause it's in my books, now I know why Jesus said, "Don't spend any time worrying over food and clothing etc (see Matthew 6:25) because your Father already knows you have need of it. Why? Because it's in the books!!!

Friend, I don't know about you, but this makes me look at prayer differently. I need to have revelation of my books and pray with the confidence of the Holy Sprit as a matter of fact when I don't know what to pray. He makes intercession for me (see Romans 8:26). Let me get outside of my selfish walls and pray God's very best for me.

With New Eyes of Understanding,

LMJ
