Power In The Name...
Dear Friend,
Have you ever been in a situation where you didn’t know what to do? In early 2008, my twin girls were only a few months old. We arrived home after a long day of me being at work and them being at daycare. Each child was asleep in her carrier. I placed their carriers on the floor in their bedroom and I left the room. As I was preparing dinner in the kitchen, I heard a noise coming from the girls’ room. I walked the short distance to their room and noticed one of the twins was coughing and wheezing but still appeared to be asleep. The cough sounded as if she was congested. Since she was asleep, I left her in the carrier and went back into the kitchen to locate a nasal bulb and infant nasal saline solution. Approximately 2 minutes of time elapsed between the time I initially left my daughter’s bedroom and the time I returned. As I removed her from the carrier, I realized she was not breathing!
Honestly, in that moment, I was extremely scared and almost in panic. I ran to my phone and called 911. I stood in my living room tearfully holding my baby and I said, Lord, please save my baby! I then started screaming , JESUS, JESUS, JESUS! I called on His name until paramedics and police arrived. Paramedics started CPR, and I continued screaming JESUS, JESUS, JESUS! I couldn’t formulate any other words to pray. A few more minutes passed, and paramedics announced my daughter was breathing but they needed to immediately transport her to the hospital. My daughter is now 12 years old and has never stopped breathing again.
On that day, I learned from personal experience that there is power in the name of Jesus. I know the power of Jesus saved my daughter’s life. There was nothing I could do in my own strength to save her. His name is above all other names.
Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, for the glory of God the Father. Phillipians 2:9-11 (NLT)
Friend, when you don’t know what to do, call on the name of Jesus. When we call on the name of Jesus, demons tremble and power comes. Call on Him in every situation; not just what we think of as “big” problems. Call on Him to help you have a good attitude. Call on Him to lead and direct you. Call on Him to give you wisdom at work. Call on Him to help you overcome anxiety, depression, and worry. Call on Him to help you navigate relationships. Call on Him for everything!
Forever trusting in His name,
Tracye M.
