Holiness Is the Standard!

If you have followed LMJ Ministry for anytime, you know her heart cry is for us to raise our standard to a place of "holiness". It seems to be the heart cry of every Spirit filled Minister of the Gospel right now. Why you might asked? Because the Word of God tells us that "Holiness" is the standard.

I Peter 1:16, "For it is written. "Be holy, because I am holy."

As, if any other confirmation was needed. Upon unpacking from my move I found one of my journals dated from 2006. I began to look through the pages, and came across some notes from May 7, 2006. This message was given by Dr. Jennifer Johnson, of Full Counsel Metro. The title of the message was,"High Price for Low Living.....The Word of God is our Standard. Come on God!!!!!! It was a sure reminder to me that..... He hasn't changed His mind about His standard (His Word)! Culture may have changed theirs, but His words says in Matthew 24:35,"Heaven and earth may past away, but my words will never pass away."

Sin has a price!! Sin is not only on the down low, it is low down!! Its only design is to bring a person down low.

Six Things that Sin Does:

1. Sin Dulls the Hearing.

Acts 28:27 "For this people's heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn, and I would heal them.'

2.Sin Darken the Eyes

Ephesian 4:18 "They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts.

3. Sin Diverts the Feet

Isaiah 53:6, "We all, like sheep have gone astray, each of us have turn to our own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all."

4. Sin Defiles the Tongue

Romans 3:13-14, "Their throats are open graves; their tongues practice deceit. "The poison of vipers is on their lips."Their mouths are full of cursing and bitterness."

5. Sin Devours the Intellect

I Corinthians 2:14, "The person without the spirit, does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but consider them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit."

6. Sin Damns the Soul

Ezekiel 18:20, "The one who sins is the one who dies............"
