Bold as A Lion
Dear Friends,
Do you need more boldness in your prayer life? The “1828 Dictionary” has a few definition for the word “Boldness”, but I want to focus on these two. “1. Freedom from timidity; Liberty and, 2. Confidence; Confident trust.” I have to admit I have asked the Lord for some pretty big things, and to which I felt were bold prayers. However, after reading the definition of boldness, I can’t guarantee that all those prayers came from a place of freedom and confidence. Can I be honest with you? Many of the things I considered to be boldness were void of the Holy Spirit, and was actually driven by both worry and fear, some of them fueled purely by my emotions.
However, the moment I really began to gain personal knowledge of the “Holy Spirit”. It established an understanding of His place in my life as “Helper”, and my prayer life started transforming. He invoked a greater confidence in me. I noticed I wasn’t as emotional when I prayed, and fear and worry began to submit to the Holy Spirit as well. I obtained a confident trust in Him, and I truly believed I would have what I pray. Follow me over to the 4th Chapter of Acts and the 31st verse (Amplified Version), it says “And when they had prayed, the place in which they were assembled was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they continued to speak the Word of God with freedom and boldness and courage. ” The Passion Translation calls it an, “unrestrained boldness”.
Come on now brothers and sisters don’t you want prayers that shake heaven? I know I do! Then, lets settle in our hearts that we will yield our prayer life to the Holy Spirit, who knows what we ought to pray.(see Romans 8:28) Then, we as the Righteous will become as bold as a lion in our prayers. (see Psalm 28:1) If you haven’t invited the Holy Spirit into your life. Today, let’s ask Him to come on in.
I found this prayer on inviting the Holy Spirit into your life. Let’s pray it together. It simply says, “ Come Holy Spirit, and baptize me with the fire of Your Love. I have surrendered to the best of my ability, and now I want to be filled with Your Spirit. I need Your power in my life. Please come, and fill me now. “….you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you, and you will be my witnesses….to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8). I believe I receive, In Jesus Name. Amen.
