God What's Your ETA?

Dear Friend,

Thank God for interactive maps and GPS. Without them...I think I’d be lost. And quite frankly I think I’m a little bit spoiled. I grew up as a child in a generation that was taught to read a paper map. But as an adult I was thrusted into the generation that didn’t have to use that skill set because of technology. Most likely we have all used them before. My favorite feature is the estimated time of arrival or also known as the ETA. This gives you an estimated time that you should arrive at your destination based on your current location and speed at that particular time. Whether you speed up or slow down it will adjust itself accordingly.

For me the ETA keeps me positive and hopeful along the way that I will make it at a specific time if nothing else interferes. I have hope (an expectant perspective that something positive will happen) that I will arrive at a specific time! I don’t ride around thinking the worst that the ETA says 30 minutes but I’ll probably make it in 2 hours and 45 minutes...that’s what hopelessness looks like.

Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.

1 Corinthians 13:7

Because of His love we can remain hopeful in every situation! Love always has a positive expectation! Are you hopeful? What has seemed like a hopeless situation in your life today? We must set our affections on Him and abandon the negative. Let us ask the Lord to restore our hope in Him, His Word, and nothing else today! It is possible... He is our God of Hope! “I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.” (see Romans 15:13)

Stay encouraged,

Jess
