Peacemaker????

Dear Friends,

I got to the bridge a little early for my walk on Monday and was just strolling through my social media. As I closed it out to prepare for my walk, I could hear the words instigators and agitators. I was like what does that mean, the Holy Spirit had given me a name for some of the things I had seen on social media. I needed to find the antonym for these words were, imagine my surprise when it was PEACEMAKER and RECONCILER.

Like my good friend LMJ says, “Lord. I need you back this up in your word.” He is a Good father…. He showed me! Let us first look at the definitions of these words, followed by the scripture’s He gave me to back it up.

Instigator-One who incites another to an evil act; a tempter.

Job 34:8 (LEB) says, “And he goes on the road in company with instigators of mischief and walks with men of wickedness.

Agitator-one who agitates; also, an insurgent; one who excites sedition or revolt.

Galatians 5:12-13 (Msg) says, “Why don’t these agitators, obsessive as they are about circumcision, go all the way and castrate themselves! 13) It is absolutely clear that God has called you to a free life. Just make sure you don’t use that freedom as an excuse to do whatever you want to do and destroy your freedom. Rather, use your freedom to serve one another in love; that’s how freedom grows.

Peacemaker-one who makes peace by reconciling parties that are at variance.

Matthew 5:9 (NIV) says, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.”

Reconciler- one who reconciles; one who brings parties at variance into renewed friendship.

II Corinthians 5:18-19 (NIV), says, “All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation. 19)that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.

So, here I asked this question: Are your conversations and social media posts reflecting you as an instigator and/or agitator, or do they reflect you as a peacemaker and reconciler? It’s very clear in the Word of God, that His children are to be peacemakers, He also mandates us with a ministry and a message of reconciliation.

Prayer: Holy Spirit we asked that you search us and show us any areas where we have knowingly or unknowingly participated in being an instigator and/or agitator. We repent for being troublemakers and submit our lives to you as your children. Therefore, we boldly declare that we will be peacemakers and reconcilers, reflecting our glory in the earth, then all will know that we are indeed the Children of God.
