Gas Pedal or Brake?
Dear Friends, Check out this excerpt from a devotional written by my friend D. Andrews. Whether God is asking you to push the gas pedal or use the brake, it's time for us to trust HIM.
Good Morning Ladies (and few gents),
A Thought for the Day: “God was asking them to step out in faith…God did nothing until those toes touched the water. He just needed to see that first step.” extracted from, From Tears to Triumph by Mary Southerland.
GiG, is it time to put your toes in the water—fresh pedicured or not? Last week I heard from several of you and have been praying for your
circumstances and situations. We are living in a time where our faith is being tested and will continue to be tested.
We must disrobe the straight jacket of cultural Christianity that leads us to believe comfort over contentment.
I would like to share two Scriptures that kept coming to mind as I was preparing for this week.
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV
I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside me. Psalm 16:8 NLT
Maybe you too need reminding of these truths? It is okay to be reminded every-now-and-again that we are fully equipped. And we are not alone. All we must do is “put our toes in the water” “press the gas pedal” or “lace up our runners.” Remember, we are not fighting for victory but from a place of victory. It is time for a paradigm shift, a GPS (God Positioning System) recalibration—from wanting-to-have, to believing we already-do-have. OUCH or Amen!
May we be encouraged to rest in knowing we have everything we need for living a godly life (2 Peter 1:3). We may not see the path ahead, nor know what the future holds, but we are not alone on the path (Matt. 28:20). Let us be cisterns of love pouring into the lives of those in our circle of influence. Only what we do for Christ will last.
God’s Got It… so we can know the TRUTH—No matter where you are. No matter what you are facing. Step out in faith. Put your toes in the water. He is with you.
Called to serve and encouraging others to thrive,
