Prayers not Wishes...
Dear Friend,
I was out taking my morning walk, and a red bird flew pass me and perched. I remember when I was little someone told me that if you saw a red bird to blow a kiss and make a wish. This morning I started thinking how often, I would hope and wish, that I would see the bird, and could blow the kiss and my wish would come true. Not realizing that I was leaving my life to chance, instead of living a life of prayer.
Today, I was reminded I don't have to wait on red birds anymore.
1 John 5:14 “And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.”
Psalm 66:19 “But truly God has listened; he has attended to the voice of my prayer.”
John 9:31 “We know that God does not listen to sinners, but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does his will, God listens to him.”
First Peter 3:12 “For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and his ears are open to their prayer. But the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”
First John 5:15 “And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.”
Can I be honest, most of my adult life, I was on a wish and a prayer. I was always hoping something good would happen to me. I did not understanding all that God had planned for me, to prosper me and do me good and no harm (see Jeremiah 29:11). I can't tell you one wish I made, that has come true. As I continued my walk, I began to smile so big and become so happy. "God I don't have to wish things would happen for me, you already have a plan for me. I don't have to wait to see a red bird, which may just be happenstance, I can open my mouth and pray and you hear and answer my prayers. Thank you Daddy, you are such a good good father!" My life is evidenced of answered prayers.
Praying,
